Want to Help, but Don't Know How?
There are a variety of ways to become involved in Bear Creek Hiking Club and Foothills Outdoors. Foothills Outdoors is a non-profit organization based in Robbins. They are in the process of developing more of the wonderful hiking and paddle trails in the Robbins area of Moore County.
Becoming a volunteer is rewarding in so many ways. This is OUR HIKING CLUB and no one is being paid to keep the club going strong. Volunteering is the key!
Bear Creek Hiking Club has TrailKids! We do need your help with the TrailKids! Treasure Hunts, Mileage Bead Collecting and Nature Scavenger Hikes Programs. We encourage Camping Trips and Star Gazing with kids.
Foothills Outdoors has a Kayak For Kids Program that may interest you.
Club participates in Trail Clean Up Days. Foothills Outdoors schedules these Trail Clean Up Days throughout the year.
Blazing over-grown future trails. Let us know if this is your thing!
Volunteer during festivals and community events, Bear Creek Hiking Club offers volunteer opportunities to greet the public and hand out club information at booths during these festivals.
Becoming a Trail Coordinator is exciting and builds leadership qualities in people. Become a Trail Coordinator by selecting a hike location you like and plan all the details for our club participants to enjoy. The Trail Coordinator will assign someone in the group to become the "Sweep." The role of the "Sweep" is very important. Their job is to bring up the rear, make sure no one gets too far behind the rest of the hikers and to help with group organization on a hike. More details about being a Trail Coordinator and a Sweep are available. Just ask a current Hike Coordinator about the details.
